Many people in our world--even right here in Los Angeles--suffer with breast cancer in addition to a wide array of extra challenges such as poverty, limited or no health services, cultural stigma, lack of education about breast cancer, social discrimination, and lack of a support system among other compounding issues. Our clients all have unique circumstances and are accepted on a case-by-case basis. To be considered, clients do not necessarily have to be low-income but we are aimed at helping those who have fallen through the cracks in some way.
We at Shobha believe that everyone facing breast cancer deserves high-quality, personalized support regardless of their circumstances. Breast cancer is hard enough when a person has enough money, a comfortable home, health insurance, access to high-quality medical services, professional mental health support, and a helpful and educated social network. Imagine how much harder it would be without these gifts!
