HOW WE HELP

Personal Advocacy Coaching and Resource-Finding

During and after breast cancer, individuals face unique and challenging emotions and situations that are all too often accompanied by loneliness, wanting to avoid placing the "burden" on family and friends, and simply not knowing where to turn for basic support. Often, an individual can access primary health services but may not have access to high-quality mental health services and/or may have other circumstances impeding their recovery. To address these issues, we provide personal advocacy coaching to underserved breast cancer patients, survivors, and sometimes their families depending on the situation. We go above and beyond giving emotional support by also helping our clients improve other parts of their lives, including but not limited to accessing community resources to meet health and related needs, training for employment, organizing their homes, tutoring to earn a GED or to help their children succeed in school and/or on college entry exams while they go through breast cancer treatment, and so on. Everyone has different needs that can only be understood through an in-depth conversation. Although in-person coaching is ideal to help with a wider variety of issues, effective coaching is also available over Skype or the phone.

To inquire about coaching for yourself or someone you know, please fill out the form on the CONTACT page and we will get in touch as soon as possible.
